Lunch for All Campaign

We are excited to announce the launch of our campaign to eliminate school lunch debt at Hawks Nest STEAM Academy for the 2024-2025 school year. This initiative ensures that no student is penalized or denied hot food due to unpaid lunch balances, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all students.

Objective:

Eliminate the school lunch debt at Hawks Nest STEAM Academy for the 2024-2025 school year, ensuring no student is penalized or denied access to hot meals due to unpaid balances.

Implementation:

Obtain Current Debt Figures

  •  Collaborate with the school administration to determine the total amount of unpaid lunch balances.

  • Request monthly updates on the debt to monitor progress and adjust fundraising strategies accordingly.

  • Set aside funds from PTO general budget to cover the debt

Raise Awareness

Promote the campaign to engage the school community and local supporters.

  • Flyers: Distribute flyers to students' homes to inform parents about the campaign and how they can contribute.

  • Emails and Newsletters: Include campaign details and progress updates in regular PTO and school newsletters.

  • Social Media: Post on PTO and school social media accounts to reach a wider audience.

Fundraising Events

Host community-driven fundraising events to generate support for the campaign.

  • Partner with Local Businesses: Approach businesses for direct donations or sponsorships. In return, offer recognition through banners, school newsletters, or event materials.

  • Encourage Individual Donations: Create easy-to-use online donation portals and provide opportunities for parents and community members to donate via check or digital platforms.

  • School & Community Events: Bake sales at school functions and local community events.

Transparency and Communication

Keep the community informed about the campaign’s progress and ensure accountability for how the funds are used.

  • Regular Updates: Provide frequent updates on the fundraising progress through newsletters, social media, and PTO meetings. 

  • Acknowledgments: Publicly thank donors and sponsors through social media shoutouts and newsletters to build goodwill and inspire others to contribute.
